The last KidStuf for the season is this Sunday, May 15. KidStuf will take a summer break and start back up after school starts.

Married Life Live

Married Life Live at the Oak Bridge Center is Sunday, May 15 (Doors open at 5:30pm; Dinner at 6:00; and Program at 7:00). Married Life Live is an awesome date night for married, engaged, and dating couples. The cost is $25/couple. There are a few tickets still available. If you would like to go but did not buy a ticket, send an e-mail to info@oakbridgecc.com to request a ticket. (Tickets must be purchased in advance.)

Baby Dedication

Oak Bridge will have baby dedications this Sunday, May 15, during

E-Service. If you have any questions, contact Craig Nall (314-846-9297).

Detour

The Detour Service for 5th and 6th graders is Friday, May 20, from 6-8pm (doors open at 5:45) at the Oak Bridge Center. Invite your 5th and 6th grade friends! Dinner will be provided.

Women’s Divorce Recovery Small Group

Jan Rathgeber is leading a 6-week small group for women who have gone through/is going through a divorce. The small group will be on Tuesdays from 7:00-8:30pm at Jan’s home in Oakville, beginning June 14^th. If you are interested in this small group, you may sign up at the Information Center on Sunday mornings.

BigStuf Camp

There are only a few more spaces left. If you or a friend have not signed up yet, you better do so soon! As of Monday, May 2, the cost for camp increased to $600. BigStuf Camp is for students going into 7 – 12 grades. The camp is held in Panama City Beach, Florida and is from July 27–August 2. The non-refundable deposit is due at time of signups. If you have questions, contact Tracy Hagan (314-846-5722), Katie Haegele (303-4267) or Clarissa Karasick (314-303-3632). All camp fees are due May 15. Student working events and doing childcare at the OBC may accumulate funds through the end of May. Beginning in June, all service scholarship funds will go toward next year.

BigStuf Informational Meetings

Parents of students going to BigStuf this summer must attend one of the several informational meetings offered. The informational meetings will be on Tuesday, May 17, at 7pm at the Oak Bridge Center and on Sunday, May 22 and June 5 at 9:45am at Keller Theater. The meeting will last approximately 30 minutes. (The first ten minutes will cover new, important information so that parents of students who have already attended don’t have to stay for the standard information.)

E-News from Tom: 5/06/11

Hello E-News Friends,

It’s a double Funday this Sunday, as we get to celebrate the One who created EVERYTHING and our Moms who helped create us. The music is packed with two new “rookie” songs and three old “home runs” in baseball terms. (BTW, Go Big Puma! Ask someone who likes the Cards if you DK what that means—baseball fever is setting in.) I promise you won’t want to miss any of these songs!

We continue our series titled “Normal Isn’t Working,” as our topic this week will focus on ”relationships.” Do you have any relationships you would like to improve (grow)? God has some great ideas on how to do just that!

For most of us, Sunday is the best day to take our “Sabbath unto the Lord” and Church (I’m prejudice towards Oak Bridge) is the best way to start that day. Don’t let time pressure or stress rob you of what God wants you to have. Remember, normal isn’t working in regards to time or stress.

I hope you enjoy this beautiful day, and I hope to see you Sunday/Funday!

E-News from Tom: 4/29/11

Hello E-News Friends,

Will you take a moment (like right now) and say a prayer for all the people that have been recently impacted by the severe weather. (Pray for hope for the future, for peace in-spite of circumstances, for compassionate love to be a light in their lives, and for their faith in God to shine through these difficult times.)

Now take another moment in prayer and say the same prayer for someone you personally know.

Finally, pause for another moment, look at the sky, and say the same prayer for yourself.

This week we will learn the importance (and the how-to) of doing what we just did. I’m guessing your life moves pretty fast each day. If you were a car, you would be a race car moving along at a high rate of speed—most of the time at an unhealthy, unsafe rate of speed.

Our new series is titled “Normal Isn’t Working.” It will be practical, biblical, and very wise. Someone you know needs to hear it (maybe it’s you), so why don’t you send out an invite. You never know….

Remember “WORLDJ316”…It’s true!
