E-News from Tom: 1/28/11

Hello E-News Friends,

Suntan lotion doesn’t work in the bottle. Neither does aspirin, vitamins, hair conditioner, teeth whitener, wrinkle reducing cream, or hair coloring. All these things have to be applied for them to be effective. (By the way these are all products my wife uses.) For me the list is a little shorter, itch crème and deodorant.

Following Jesus requires application as well for His teachings to be effective in our lives. Last week we talked about the principle of scripture that is summed up by the statement, “Little forgivings lead to Big love.” It’s effective but only if applied to our lives each day, every day.

This week we will THEP 3 keys to parenting. I know God wants to teach us some valuable principles on this topic. They are actually principles to follow in all our relationships. Learn them and apply them and you’ll have better relationships because of them, especially as a parent.

Enjoy the “heat wave” as we get ready for another great Funday/Sunday ! I hope to see you and your friends and family as we continue to THEP towards Jesus together!

In His Grace,

Tom

PS Baptism Service Sunday night at 6:00 at the OBC! Can’t wait!

E-News from Tom: 1/21/11

Hello E-News Friends,

Five Reasons to come to Oak Bridge Sunday:

  1. It is a great thep. If you don’t know what that means you definitely need to come Sunday. I promise you no other place in the world will be able to define that word for you.
  2. Many of us keep great records (not music albums), but we shouldn’t. You want to know why? Come to OB Sunday.
  3. I know the songs we’re singing this weekend. One is “Awakening” the new song we learned last week. Love it! We are learning another new one this week. Love it as well! It is titled________ . Learn its’ name Sunday!
  4. We are having a cool drama.
  5. Our God is great, super, amazing, powerful, awesome, loving, truthful, life-changing, and very ready to teach us how important ________________ is. Find out what the very important blank is Sunday. (All your relationships may depend on it!)

Great thinking about God, leads to greater thinking in our lives! Sunday is Funday!

In His grace and with His love,

Tom
