E-News: 06/21/11 to 06/27/11

Movie Night – Soul Surfer

Sunday, June 26, at Keller Theater Route 68 will have a movie night for all Junior High and High School students to watch Soul Surfer at 7:10pm. (Get there by 6:30 to get your concessions!) Admission is free. Concessions will be for sale. We encourage you to buy concessions since the theater has given us a great cost to view the movie. This would be a great time to hang out with other students going to BigStuf and to invite your friends!

BigStuf Camp

We are officially SOLD OUT. All camp fees are due now. Students who are still interested in going should put their name on a “wait list.” If any openings come available, those on the list will receive the first opportunity.

Parents we are having one last informational meeting on Tuesday, June 28, at 7pm at the Oak Bridge Center. If you haven’t made it to one of the previous meetings, you need to attend this meeting.

If you have questions, contact Tracy Hagan (314-846-5722), Katie Haegele (303-4267) or Clarissa Karasick (314-303-3632).

BigStuf Olympics

It’s that time again for fun and wacky games to introduce us to all the students and leaders going to BigStuf. The Olympics will be at Grant’s Shelter in Jefferson Barrack’s Park on Sunday, July 10, from 1-4pm. Lunch will be served. Camp T-Shirts will be handed out! Come on all you campers, don’t miss out on a great time!

Edge Service

There will be an Edge Service on Sunday, July 17 from 6-9pm (doors open at 5:30) for all students in Junior High and High School. This won’t be a normal Edge. We will serve Pizza and have a blast playing games (yes, those crazy Noblitt games) followed by a worship service. This is a great time to hang out with other students going to BigStuf and to invite friends.

Joplin Tornado Victims

Oak Bridge is partnering with a local church in Joplin (Mystery Church) in order to provide relief assistance. Mystery church will use donations to provide for that area’s specific needs. If you would like to give a financial donation, please make your check payable to Oak Bridge Community Church. Our offering to the Church in Joplin is over $6500 now! Way to go you OB’ers!

E-News from Tom: 6/10/11

Hello E-News Friends,

I’m looking forward to Sunday/Funday as we celebrate together the truth of how great our Heavenly Father is. (Kind of weird to realize that He is watching what I’m writing as I write it and watching you as you read this.) Thank you Father for caring about us at all times! (Normal people don’t think about this stuff, just the weird ones.) I’m glad we are weird, aren’t you!

Don’t show up late this Sunday or you will miss a great beginning to our service! We will be looking at the importance of celebration in our lives. I know it is hard to imagine but I think Jesus loved to enjoy life to its fullest and sometimes that meant a good party! (That is one of the reasons I believe people loved to be around Him.)

As the song says, “We’re gonna party, I can feel it down inside. Party, I was dead now I’m alive!”

Maybe you have a friend you would like to invite to this party (I hope you do…make sure they know it is BYOB (Bring your own Bible).

Hope to see you Sunday/Funday!

In His Grace,

Tom

PS We are over $5,000 for helping people in Joplin through Mystery Church. Thank you all for your generosity! I know God will bless you for it!
