Women’s Divorce Recovery Small Group

Jan Rathgeber is leading a 6-week small group for women who have gone through/is going through a divorce. The small group will be on Tuesdays from 7:00-8:30pm at Jan’s home in Oakville, beginning June 14th. BigStuf Camp

There are only a couple more spaces left. As of May 2, the cost for camp increased to $600. BigStuf Camp is for students going into 7 – 12 grades. The camp is held in Panama City Beach, Florida and is from July 27–August 2. All camp fees are due now. If you have questions, contact Tracy Hagan (314-846-5722), Katie Haegele (303-4267) or Clarissa Karasick (314-303-3632).

BigStuf Informational Meetings

Parents of students going to BigStuf this summer must attend one of the several informational meetings offered. We have now had two of the three meetings, so if you haven’t attended, please do so on Sunday, June 5 at 9:45am at Keller Theater. The meeting will last approximately 30 minutes. (The first ten minutes will cover new, important information so that parents of students who have already attended don’t have to stay for the standard information.)

KidStuf

Just a reminder that KidStuf is on summer break.

E-News from Tom: 5/27/11

Hello E-News Friends,

Life can change in a hurry. We see evidence of that every day. A weather storm, doctor’s report, car accident…I could go on and on. In an ever- changing world (life), I am glad that we have an “Anchor” that does not change, that gives us security and hope, that holds firm in times of uncertainty and chaos—an “Anchor” that sees us through the worst storms life has to offer. In this “Anchor” we find comfort, peace, strength, and joy. The “Anchor” is there at all times and at the end of times.

I am thankful to God our “Anchor” that has sent us His Son as the perfect gift from above to hold on to in a broken, changing world.

Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.” James 1:17

This Sunday we get the opportunity to hear the teachings of the “Anchor”, to lift high the “Anchor” in song, to approach the “Anchor” in prayer, and to feel the touch of the “Anchor” in our hearts. I am asking you to continue in your prayers to the “Anchor” for the people of Joplin. Life has changed for many of them, but the “Anchor” has not. His grace, truth, and love are still enough. (For us as well)

Have a safe Memorial Day weekend, hope to see you Sunday.

The “Anchor” holds!

In His Grace,

Tom

E-News from Tom: 5/20/11

Hello E-News Friends,

I am talking about sex this weekend and I need your help. I have a favor to ask of all of you. The world has so much to say on this topic that I’m afraid it has impacted each of us to a degree. TV, movies, magazines and advertising teaches one major theme about sex, and it is a huge error. This error has wreaked havoc in our sexual relations and continues to do so unless corrected. Fortunately God’s Word speaks to this error and directs us to a great truth (and secret to many). The favor I need is to make sure you invite as many young people (middle school and up…use your discretion) as you can to Oak Bridge this Sunday.

With that said, I believe every person (married or unmarried, young or old) needs to be sure they know this truth (secret) from God about sex. We’ve been impacted by the world as well.

A lot hangs in the balance with this topic. Hopefully this weekend will shed some light and give some thought to a topic that is so great (God created it) but can be so damaging (satan wants to corrupt it). Let’s, together (with God’s truth), help bring it back to the great side.

Do a brother a favor and invite someone God puts on your heart!

I hope to see all of you this Sunday/Funday!

In His grace and with His love,

Tom
